The crisp autumn air and vibrant fall foliage provide the perfect backdrop for the Halloween season in the Quad Cities. From family-friendly events to bone-chilling scares, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this Halloween weekend.

Fall ZooFest & Boo at the Zoo

Join Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary for “ZooFest” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 28-29. The event features a Zoo Maze, Boo Zone, Photo Spots, Bounce House and Animal Enrichment Event activities included with paid general admission.

Then come back for “Boo at the Zoo” from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31. Come in costume and trick-or-treat around the zoo with your favorite animals. Bring a flashlight and see all the nocturnal animals out and about. Don’t forget to visit the Boo Zone.

Ghost Talk: Destiny Checks In

Prescott Center for the Arts (PCA) presents Ghost Talk: Destiny Checks In. The performance will provide patrons with two ghostly encounters at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, in the PCA Studio Theater, 208 N. Marina St.

The play is based on frightening stories, spooky surprises and interactive encounters from around Yavapai County. This annual fundraiser benefits local youth art programming and scholarships at PCA.

Costumes for Kids 5k Fun Run & Halloween Festival

Get ready to have a blast this weekend with the Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation’s 8th annual Costumes for Kids 5K Fun Run and Halloween Festival. The event is from 9 to noon Saturday, Oct. 28, at the courthouse plaza, 120 S. Cortez St., Prescott. Whether you’re a seasoned 5K enthusiast or a family of eager trick-or-treaters, this event has something for everyone.

Halloween Happening

Celebrate Halloween at the Highlands Center for Natural History, 1375 S. Walker Road, from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27. Take a spooky stroll through the Discovery Gardens to encounter this season’s favorite creepy characters, plus learning stations where you can dissect owl pellets and learn about spiders and bats. There will also be storytelling in the gathering circle and a meet and greet with creatures from the Heritage Park Zoo.

Prescott Gateway Mall Trick or Treat

Prescott Gateway Mall is hosting its “fab-BOO-lous Trick or Treat event” from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. Free Halloween festivities for the family include trick or treating with participating merchants (while supplies last) as well as trunk or treating by Prescott Cars & Coffee. The day’s activities include balloon twisters, superheroes, craft booth, face painters, a bounce house and DJ.
