The Jazz Journey series returns for its next concert in a 2023 series of jazz music exploration, with “Ghoulish Tricks and Jazz Treats.” The Prescott Jazz Summit All-Star Combo will perform a conglomeration of jazz treats from all eras of jazz music at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, in the Elks Crystal Hall, on the third floor of the Performing Arts Center, 117 E. Gurley St., Prescott.
The Prescott Jazz Summit All-Star Combo players are Mike Vax on trumpet, Tony Vacca on saxophone and flute, Rick Schmidt on guitar, Selwyn Reams on bass, and Ken French on drums.
Feel free to wear a costume — especially something to do with music and jazz. There will be prizes for the most popular costumes, including two All Concert Badges to the 2024 Prescott Jazz Summit and two sets of two tickets for the Saturday night Big Band Gala Concert during the festival.
The Jazz Journey series brings together musicians and singers from around Arizona to present evenings that will include not only the music but historical facts and anecdotes about the music and the musicians who have performed America’s True Art Form for over 100 years.
Beer, wine and other beverages are available for purchase at the performance. Parties of four or six will be given their own table (as available). Larger and smaller parties may be combined or divided to accommodate all guests. Seating will be cabaret style. For special accommodation, email info@etpac.org.
