The multi-instrumentalist sister duo Kaleidoscope Redrocks are scheduled to perform at the Relay For Life of The Quad Cities overnight event. The event will be held at the Prescott Valley Civic Center, located at 7501 E. Skoog Blvd, on Friday, May 31.
The performance will begin at 9 p.m. following the Luminaria Ceremony. Gracie Moskoff, 18, and her sister Tivona Moskoff, 15, play acoustic and electric guitars, bass, ukulele, keyboards and drums. They are known for their harmonious vocals and collaborative songwriting.
“Sometimes we’ll start by writing the music first or we’ll have lyrics that we write the music to,” Gracie said. “We enjoy collaborating with each other and our dad, Andrew, who has also written lyrics that we’ve put music to.”
Kaleidoscope Redrocks will entertain attendees with a mix of classic rock, country, folk, pop, punk, and original music from their debut album, “Running Out Of Time,” and their upcoming second album, “Forever.”
“Our most recent release, Forever, is a love song ballad that we released on Valentine’s Day 2024,” Gracie said. “Tivona wrote the lyrics and most of the music for the song.”
The sisters have been performing together since Gracie was 9 and Tivona was 6 years old, after studying music at the School of Rock in Phoenix. Almost 10 years later, they still have fun working together.
“I enjoy the way that we can communicate without having to really think about it,” Gracie said. “It’s kind of like a telepathic sister bond where we can just look at each other and you just get to cue in. We just have a good energy between us and the creativity that just is natural, where you don’t really have to try.”
Their mission, “To Make People Good,” was inspired by their volunteer work bringing music to hospice residents and patients in various care facilities. Over the past nine years, they have fundraised for causes such as animal rescues, community organizations, Veterans, Ukrainian refugees, and efforts to end human trafficking.
“We really enjoy the fundraising aspect of it and just feeling like we can really contribute something to help fight against cancer,” Gracie said. “It’s a really horrible disease that takes so many people who are not ready to be taken yet.”
Relay For Life is described by the American Cancer Society as “the ultimate team fundraiser that brings communities together to fight cancer.” The event honors cancer survivors and remembers those lost to the disease. It runs overnight to symbolize the continuous nature of battling cancer.
“We actually just learned eight new songs that are all cancer fighting songs,” Gracie said. “We’re going to be playing a lot of inspirational music to kind of uplift the mood.
