All She Wrote is a mercurial rock ‘n’ roll band from Prescott that brings original music to every performance and has a catalog of material from all eras and genres including blues, heavy rock, country and funk.

The band’s members are Texas born singer-songwriter Caleb Williams on guitar, vocals and harmonica; Dan Henry on bass and vocals; and Dave Frederick on drums.

Williams spoke with Across the Street ahead of their upcoming performance at 7 p.m. Friday, April 7, in the Crystal Hall on the third floor of the Elks Performing Arts Center, 117 E. Gurley St. The following interview was edited for length and clarity.

How did this band

get started?

When I first moved here, I didn’t know if I was going to find a band here or what it was going to be like, but I just put out an ad looking for a drummer and a bassist. I was really interested in being a trio, like a really hard rock blues trio.

I actually ended up joining a different band when I first moved here, but it didn’t really work out. The guys were too busy and it really was fortunate because I really got to start over and get what I wanted in the first place.

What do you like most about performing

with this band?

I kind of went with these guys more based on their character. They were just really nice, easy to get along with, no egos. That’s the important thing.

If you find some guys who are easy to work with and are good band mates, then the rest is easy. It just took rehearsing every week and I think they give me a lot of freedom because there’s not a lot of ego involved. So, I get to sort of run the show. I just like, sort of, high energy, loud, rock ‘n’ roll music.

What inspires you to write new songs?

It depends. A lot of times it’s just a riff. It could be just a guitar riff or just an idea. I think the best plan is to always be open for any idea or any lick and just write it down immediately, is what I always have to do. Even if I have to get up out of bed and write it down because it’ll be gone in five minutes.

Beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks will be available for purchase throughout the evening, April 7.

Priority ticket holders will have assigned seating in the first two rows, all other seats will be first come, first served.
