
Tucson-based acoustic duo, RISO, with Matt and Rebekah Rolland of the nationally acclaimed Run Boy Run, open the Folk Sessions’ 20th season at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 at the elegant Elks Crystal Hall, third floor, 117 E. Gurley St., Prescott.
From Tucson, RISO’s sweet vocals and dynamic instrumentals serve as a striking counterpart to gritty, beautifully honest, and captivating original songs. The last decade has seen Matt and Rebekah Rolland on the road with the nationally acclaimed Americana band, Run Boy Run, participating as artists-in-residence for the National Parks Centennial and collaborating on six studio albums. Their new album “New Eyes” is available on all digital platforms and on CD. Their 2018 album Seed & Silo was placed in the top three of Pop Matters’ Best Folk Albums of the Year.
